To remind you, SIHH is a large, invitation-only trade show put on by the Richemont Group watch brands as well as a few partners (such as Audemars Piguet). They separated from Baselworld years ago to get better contact with buyers and to be "more luxury." Compared to Baselworld it is quite calm, but nevertheless it is still a hustle and bustle trade show. Just with perhaps better dressed people, wine being served, and a three course lunch menu.
According to the code-based gnomes in WordPress, aBlogtoWatch had 430 posted articles in 2012. How we are supposed to choose the top articles from that is news to me. We feel that most of what we did in 2012 was pretty stellar. If you feel that you missed too much, then head over to the aBlogtoWatch All Articles page, and start going back in time or search by month to see what you missed. If there was such a thing as a "pedestrian watch" at A. Lange & Sohne then it would surely be one of their "more basic" watches priced under ,000 like this 1815 Up/Down. Anything over that simply could not be considered "ordinary." There of course is jest in my words as A. Lange & Sonhe is among the most exclusive high-end brands in the world that given their volume (about 5,000 or less watches a year) produce the nicest movements around. Turn over one of their watches - ideally a chronograph, and you'll see what the fuss is all about.
Hey, you got your chocolate in my peanut butter, and you got your peanut butter in my chocolate. Well, they are two great tastes that go great together, and what followed was a peanut-butter-chocolate-sundae with a watch on top. With little preparation, fewer resources and even less communication, we bombarded our Facebook fans, Twitter followers and Instagram-ers with every photo, video snippet and two-word comment he could manage to get to me from behind the sapphire crystal curtain.
There are lots of others, too - Nike Fuelband, Fitbit, Metawatch, EZ430 Chronos, to name just a few. As the category evolves and expands, we'll be spending more time here covering it. Chime in here in the comments, and let us know what you think. Are they "smart" enough yet for you to wear one?

Barnett takes his time crafting each piece. The Time Machine blades are made from Damascus steel (which Barnett forges himself), and the bodies are made from various metals which include steel, brass, silver, gold, copper, and more. The result is a wonderful mixture of colors and textures. The Time Machine is also a bit "aged" looking which adds to the steampunk aesthetic. It is a beautiful thing.
